Practising law in Alberta since 2008, Ann’s main focus over the past number of years has been in the area of Family Law. She also has experience in drafting Wills documents, real estate transactions, and litigating small claims in Provincial Court.
Ann recognizes that the role of a family lawyer is one that requires patience, understanding, and an ability to analyze individual situations in order to provide the best advice and assistance to her clients to help them work toward a resolution that is the best possible outcome for all parties involved. To that end, she believes that lawyer-assisted negotiation is a preferable approach to litigation in family law matters, and works conscientiously with clients to help them through this often difficult process.
Prior to returning to university in 2004 to obtain her degree in law, Ann worked as a professional musician, with a focus on Celtic music. She continues to be active in the music community, competing in the international solo piping competition circuit at a championship level, and she also is a member of the Los Angeles Scots Pipe Band. Ann is also a much sought-after adjudicator and instructor for competitions and workshops throughout North America, and is an active member with the Cochrane Pipe Band, which is a community-based non-profit organization.
